He spent thirteen years working in home health and hospice, in business development, alongside hospital systems and the clinicians who deliver care. That’s real, relevant experience. It is not a medical licence, and we will never pretend otherwise.
Care decisions depend on a specific person, a specific diagnosis, and the specific clinicians treating them. Use what you read here to ask those clinicians better questions — not to replace them.

We’re careful. We cite primary sources — state statutes, CMS specifications, state health departments. Every page that depends on the law carries the date it was last verified against that law. But laws change, we can be wrong, and your situation may have facts we know nothing about.

The care needs checklist
The checklist on this site is built on the activities-of-daily-living framework used across home health and long-term care. It is a starting point for a conversation — with a doctor, a family, or an agency.
It is not a clinical assessment. It is not a diagnosis. It is not a determination of eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance, or any other benefit program. Only a qualified professional who has actually examined the person can make those determinations.
If the checklist tells you something alarming, that’s a reason to call a doctor — not a reason to panic, and not a substitute for calling one.
Money, and independence
We may receive a fee from a home care provider for connecting you with them, and some links on this site may earn OnPoint Associates LLC a commission. Where that’s the case, we say so on the page where it happens — not buried on a page nobody reads.
Four commitments, and we hold ourselves to them:
1. We only ever refer for private-duty, privately paid care. That is the only service we introduce anyone to, and it’s the only thing any agreement we sign will cover.

We never take a fee for a referral to a service paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, or the VA. The federal Anti-Kickback Statute makes that a crime, and it should. We stay far away from the line.
3. Free things stay free. The care needs checklist, and every form we publish. We will never put a paid product in front of a free one that would serve you just as well, and we will never gate a tool behind your contact details.
4. A payment never changes what we tell you. The page that says Medicare mostly doesn’t cover home care is a bad sales pitch. It’s also the truth, and it stays.
Accuracy, and what happens when we’re wrong
We’ll get something wrong eventually. Everyone who publishes does.
When we do, we fix it — visibly. Corrections are noted on the page, with a date, rather than quietly edited so that nobody notices. That’s what the “last verified” stamp on each page is for, and it’s why we publish a changelog when something material changes. You can see exactly how we handle this.
If you find an error, tell us. We’d rather be corrected than be trusted for the wrong reasons.

We link out constantly — to state health departments, to statutes, to CMS, to Medicare. Once you leave this site you’re on someone else’s, and their terms and privacy policy apply, not ours. We don’t control that content and we aren’t responsible for it.
